How Does Modular Tooling Perform Metal Stamping?
|
Dayton Rogers specializes in Modular Tooling, which is similar to the short run metal stamping process. Modular Tooling is a form of "hard" tooling where a single tool, or a set of tools, is designed to manufacture a specific part. This process is unlike Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) sheet metal fabrication, where the same "soft" tools are used to manufacture several different parts. Modular tooling is designed to fit in several of our punch presses ranging in size from 3 to 300 tons.
Cost-efficient Modular Tooling is built in-house at each Dayton Rogers facility. We build our tooling the same at each of our MFG location, so we can easily transfer it between each of them. Our experienced tooling departments use Wire EDMs, CNC Machining Centers, mills, drills and lathes to create Modular Tooling to meet all your precision sheet metal needs.

Why Choose Modular Tooling for your Precision Metal Stamping Needs?
|
Precision. With Modular Tooling, we can produce complicated shapes with great precision and repeatability.
Larger Quantities. Unlike most short run stamping tools, Modular Tooling built at Dayton Rogers can handle quantities into the hundred-thousands. Modular Tooling is ideal for quantities larger than most metal fabrication runs, but smaller than quantities that make progressive tooling cost-efficient.
Cost-Efficiency. Modular Tooling is built with the quality and durability of progressive tooling, but at a much lower cost. Depending on the project, Modular Tooling could be cost-efficient for quantities as low as 500 pieces. Also, if your project has a revision, Modular Tooling can be modified more easily and inexpensively than Progressive Tooling.
Speed. Because we build our Modular Tooling in-house, it can sometimes be built in as little as one day using your design file!
Quality. Dayton Rogers guarantees your custom Modular Tooling will always be in top working order. If something should happen to it, we will repair or replace the tooling for the life of your product.
