Job Title: Laser - Turret Operator
Department: Sheet Metal
Reports To: Manufacturing Manager
General Purpose of Job:
Operates Laser and/or Turret to cut metal by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to:
Set up Laser and/or Turret.
Operate Laser and/or Turret, loading and unloading material, as necessary.
Performs secondary finishing requirements such as grinding, tapping, deburring, etc.
Able to trouble shoot programs, flat blanks, and edit programs, etc.
Checks part quality periodically per quality plan.
Analyze drawings, sketches, and design data of part to determine dimension, configuration of parts, and selection of tools.
Produces parts according to job card quantity requirements
Capable of understanding process and initiating process improvement.
Maintains work area clean and orderly
Packs parts according to job card requirements
Has the ability to learn basic Blue Print reading skills
Works safely and abides by all safety rules
Has the ability to learn to use micrometers, calipers, and other quality measuring devices
Responsible for accuracy and completeness of work to ensure customer satisfaction
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience:
No requirement specified. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is desirable.
Computer Knowledge:
Competency in the use of basic computer software such as Word & Excel. Intermediate knowledge of CAD software such as Solid Works and Auto CAD, CAM Works, Merry Mech, etc.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, job cards, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add and subtract four digit numbers and to multiply and divide.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out one or two step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
